On Tuesday and Wednesday (9 & 10 December 2025), in the premises of CEITEC BUT in Brno, the second meeting of the Czech Local Chapter of GlaCerHub was held.
We welcomed our main principal investigators – Prof. Karel Maca and Assoc. Prof. Ladislav Čelko – together with representatives of academic institutions, industrial partners, non-profit organisations, and innovation-driven companies supported by local government.
Together, we revisited and further developed the topics opened during the first meeting, strengthening dialogue on opportunities for future cooperation and joint progress toward GlaCerHub goals and expected outcomes.

The programme featured international guest experts, whose contributions significantly enriched the agenda:
Dr. Jesús Purroy (Inveniam, Spain)
Topic: Early Steps in Technology Transfer
Jesús Purroy focused on the key challenges and steps involved in the early stages of technology transfer. He presented best practices for identifying and evaluating technological innovations, as well as strategies for successfully introducing them to the market. The lecture also covered how to establish strong partnerships between academia and industry to drive commercialization of research results.
Dr. Richard Trache (Treibacher, Austria)
Topic: Development of a Fused and Crushed, Agglomerated and Sintered Ytterbium Disilicate Spray Powder for Aerospace Applications
Richard Trache discussed the development of a ytterbium disilicate-based powder for aerospace applications. He focused on the technological challenges of producing fused, crushed, agglomerated, and sintered powders that meet high standards of quality and durability. The lecture provided an in-depth overview of manufacturing processes, material properties, and applications in specialized fields such as aerospace and space industries.
Participants engaged in active discussions about pathways for joint initiatives within the Local Chapter scheme of the GlaCerHub organisational structure, exploring how stronger coordination can support innovation, technology transfer, and international cooperation.

Our efforts to expand the Czech Local Chapter and involve additional stakeholders across the Quadruple Helix will continue!
