The second cycle of the GlaCerHub Training Programme – Financial Literacy for Research Activities officially took place from 25 to 27 May 2026 at the FunGlass Centre, Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín.
This intensive three-day training brought together researchers, project managers, and administrative staff eager to strengthen their financial skills and deepen their understanding of financial management in research environments and Horizon Europe projects.

The training offered a comprehensive and practical approach to financial literacy in research activities, combining expert lectures with interactive examples and hands-on exercises that encouraged active participation and collaboration.
Three Days of Learning and Practical Experience
The programme began with Day 1: Fundamentals of Accounting, led by Peter Hošták, PhD. Participants gained essential knowledge in accounting principles, budget preparation, and financial management foundations necessary for successful research activities and Horizon Europe projects.

On Day 2, Monika Šandrejová, MBA guided participants through Budgeting & Strategic Financial Planning. The session focused on practical budgeting scenarios, financial planning techniques, and strategic approaches to managing research project finances. The day was marked by strong engagement, teamwork, and valuable discussions highlighting the growing importance of financial literacy in research support.
The training concluded with Day 3: Financial Analysis, again led by Peter Hošták, PhD., providing participants with practical tools and analytical approaches for evaluating and monitoring research finances effectively.
Strengthening Research Support Through Financial Literacy
Throughout the three days, participants actively engaged both in person and online, contributing to a dynamic learning environment focused on building stronger research support skills and enhancing financial confidence.
