🔬 Practical Metallography for Laboratory Personnel
Participants will acquire knowledge of optimal specimen preparation procedures using their own materials and/or components. Through the application of light microscopy, attendees will learn to evaluate all relevant macro- and microstructural parameters in specific specimens, and will gain insight into the relationships between particular microstructural parameters and the mechanical properties of materials.

⚙️ Application of Metallography in the Resolution of Manufacturing Problems
A three-day workshop focused on addressing specific challenges encountered in industrial practice through the use of advanced metallographic techniques. The workshop incorporates comprehensive materials analysis of participants' own specimens from the perspective of manufacturing technology, heat treatment, surface finishing, defect occurrence, and in-service failure or wear. Light microscopy and hardness measurement will serve as the primary analytical techniques; scanning electron microscopy will be available where required.
Within the framework of manufacturing problem resolution, detailed attention will be given to the quality of input materials, to the manufacturing process parameters governing the resulting microstructural condition of the material (during casting, forming, welding, additive manufacturing, etc.), as well as to subsequent heat treatment and surface finishing operations. In cases involving in-service degradation or component failure, the fundamental relationships and interdependencies between the microstructural state of the material and its mechanical and technological properties — as well as component service life — will be elucidated and discussed.

The workshops will be led by a team of experienced materials engineers with 25 years of professional practice, who will address all participant queries and offer fresh perspectives on the resolution of practical challenges.
