Representatives of the GlaCerHub project participated in the Excellence Hubs Community (EHC) 2026 Joint Event, held on 26-27 October 2026 in Athens, Greece.
The event brought together Excellence Hubs projects from across Europe to exchange experiences, discuss project sustainability, strengthen inter-project collaboration, and contribute to shaping the future of the Excellence Hubs initiative.
The GlaCerHub delegation included Peter Hošták, Head of the Hub Office, Andrej Dočár, Innovation Chair, and Andrea Chrastinová, Project Manager. During the event, GlaCerHub engaged in discussions with representatives of other Excellence Hubs.
A significant part of the programme focused on interactive workshops and breakout sessions addressing topics such as project sustainability, community engagement, innovation ecosystems, and pathways for maximising the long-term impact of Excellence Hubs beyond EU funding. Participants also explored opportunities for synergies with other Horizon Europe and WIDERA instruments and discussed strategies for strengthening regional innovation ecosystems.

The event featured presentations and discussions involving representatives of the European Commission and the European Research Executive Agency, who provided insights into the current status of the Excellence Hubs programme, evaluation outcomes, and policy perspectives for the next EU Framework Programme. Participants also contributed feedback and recommendations intended to support the future development of Excellence Hubs and widening participation instruments.
The participation of GlaCerHub at the EHC 2026 Joint Event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen international connections, and contribute to ongoing discussions on the future of innovation-driven regional development in Europe.
