IRONMAN or Fe-Male: Resources for All of Us

The mini-conference IRONMAN or Fe-Male: Resources for All of Us, held at CEITEC BUT, highlighted the critical role of people as a key resource in science and innovation.

Across presentations and panel discussions, speakers consistently emphasized the importance of community-building, local networks, mentorship, supportive colleagues, and family in shaping successful scientific careers, with a particular focus on supporting women in science.

The event brought together inspiring experts and policy-makers, fostering open dialogue on how collaboration and human connections drive progress in research environments. A keynote address by science journalist Pavla Hubalkova reinforced this message, noting that while financial support remains important, success in science is ultimately rooted in personal motivation and strong community support.

The programme also created an inclusive atmosphere by providing space for children, enabling greater participation for attendees balancing professional and family responsibilities. Attendees actively engaged in discussions, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting one another and advancing the scientific ecosystem.

The organisers also expressed their appreciation to all speakers, participants, and the CEITEC leadership, whose support and presence underscored the significance of the event.

The conference was co-organised by GlaCerHub.
