GlaCerHub Supports Expert Visit on Polymer-Derived Ceramics at FunGlass

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Günter Motz delivered lectures on FunGlass

Within the framework of the GlaCerHub project, FunGlass Centre recently welcomed Prof. Günter Motz (University of Bayreuth, Germany), a leading expert in polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs). His research focuses on preceramic polymers, ceramic coatings, and advanced materials designed for high-temperature and functional applications.

During his visit on 20–21 April, Prof. Motz delivered two specialized lectures and online webinars:

  • Polymer-Derived Ceramics (PDC) Technology – The Processing of Ceramics from Polymers
  • Coatings Based on Preceramic Polymers – Processing and Applications

The lectures brought together researchers from FunGlass as well as well as representatives of GlaCerHub consortium partners.

The event facilitated knowledge exchange on current trends and technological advancements in PDCs, fostering discussion and collaboration within the scientific community.

GlaCerHub’s support enabled this valuable expert engagement, contributing to the strengthening of research excellence and international cooperation in advanced ceramic materials.
